APOL volatility flat into informal SEC inquiry into revenue recognition practices

Apollo Group (APOL) is recently trading at $59.50 in pre-market trading, below yesterday's close of $72.97.

The company announced an informal SEC inquiry into its revenue recognition practices. RW Baird said "SEC inquiry keeps us sidelined."

APOL November option implied volatility is at 52, and December is at 45, versus its six-month average of 49, according to Track Data, suggesting non-directional price movement.


DTV volatility flat into EPS and subscriber addition outlook

DirecTV (DTV) closed yesterday at $25.58.

The company is expected to report Q3 EPS Nov. 5.

DTV November option implied volatility is at 34, and December is at 33, versus its six-month average of 34, according to Track Data, suggesting non-directional price movement.
