UTHR November volatility at 56, January at 43 into EPS

United Therapeutics (UTHR) is recently up 50 cents to $42.11.

The company is expected to report Q3 EPS Oct. 29.

UTHR November option implied volatility is at 56, December is at 48, and January is at 43, versus its six-month average of 44, according to Track Data, suggesting less price movement after EPS.


AMED options active after reaffirming fiscal year 2009 guidance

Amedisys (AMED) is recently down $3.05 to $40.06.

The home health and hospice services company reported Q3 revenues of $388 million, up 20.7% year over year.

AMED November call option implied volatility is at 54, and puts are at 59, versus its six-month average of 55, according to Track Data.

AMED call option volume of 6,941 contracts compares to put volume of 6,527 contracts, according to Track Data. AMED average daily volume is 4,020 contracts, according to IVolatility.
