GE volatility at 14-month lows into events

General Electric (GE) is recently up 7 cents to $16.09.

The company is scheduled to host a GE Capital event in early December and a CEO annual outlook meeting in NYC in mid-December.

GE December option implied volatility is at 32, and January is at 37, below its 26-week average of 44, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price movement.


SHLD calls more active than puts into EPS

Sears Holdings Corp. (SHLD) is recently down 37 cents to $75.95.

The company is scheduled to report Q3 EPS Nov. 19.

SHLD November 75 straddle is priced at $6.10, and the December 75 straddle is priced at $10.20.

Option volume of 17,210 contracts compares to put volume of 2,853 contracts, according to Track Data, suggesting larger price movement.
