HBI February puts active on volatility of 46

Hanesbrands (HBI) is recently up 23 cents to $24.67.

The company is expected to report Q4 EPS on Jan. 28.

HBI February put option implied volatility is at 46, and April puts are at 41, versus its 26-week average of 48.

HBI February 22.5 puts have traded 18 times on transaction volume of 10,000 contracts, versus its open interest of 54 contracts, according to Track Data, suggesting traders hedging for downside price movement.


TIF options active on low volatility into holiday sales report

Tiffany & Co. (TIF) is recently down $1.16 to $45.73.

The company is expected to release holiday sales on Jan. 12.

Credit Suisse said, "Expect earnings upside and stock strength to continue."

TIF call option volume of 6,321 contracts compares to put volume of 14,135 contracts. Average daily volume is 7,260 contracts, according to IVolatility.

TIF February option implied volatility is at 33, and May is at 34, below its 26-week average of 42, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price movement.
