INTC puts active into earnings and outlook

Intel (INTC) is recently down 40 cents to $20.55.

The company is expected to report Q4 EPS after the market close on Jan. 14.

Thomas Weisel has a 12-month price target of $28 on the stock.

INTC call option volume of 32,659 contracts compares to put volume of 56,439 contracts.

INTC January 21 straddle is priced at $1.12, and the February 21 straddle is priced at $1.76.

INTC overall option implied volatility of 30 is near its six-month average of 31, according to Track Data.


XLF volatility of 26 near low end of range

The Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) is recently down 27 cents to $14.96.

XLF call option volume of 34,739 contracts compares to put volume of 43,519 contracts.

XLF overall volatility of 26 is below its six-month average of 31, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price movement.
