MSFT volatility low into EPS and Window 7 release

Microsoft (MSFT) November volatility is low at 28, and December is at 26.

The company released Windows 7 today and is scheduled to report earnings tomorrow.

Call volume of 80,000 contracts compares to and put volume of 66,000 contracts.


Hewlett-Packard volatility at 26-month lows as shares trend higher

Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) is recently down 17 cents to $48.05.

HPQ November option implied volatility is at 22, and December is at 27, below its six-month average of 31, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price movement.
