ORCL November volatility at 31 into analyst meeting

Oracle (ORCL) is recently down 9 cents to $21.10.

ORCL is waiting for regulatory approval of its $7.4 billion purchase of Sun Microsystems (JAVA).

Oracle is hosting an analyst meeting this afternoon.

Goldman Sachs (GS) reiterated its "buy" rating on ORCL.

ORCL November option implied volatility is at 31, and December is at 33, near its six-month average of 35, according to Track Data, suggesting slightly decreasing price movement.


TIE volatility low on tight trading range into EPS and demand outlook

Titanium Metals (TIE) is recently up 4 cents to $10.57.

This worldwide producer of titanium metal products is expected to be a supplier of materials for the Boeing (BA) 787 Dreamliner.

The company is expected to report Q3 EPS in early November.

TIE November option implied volatility is at 61, and December is at 62, below its six-month average of 68, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price movement.
