BA puts active while shares are down 3% on production issues

Boeing (BA) is recently down $1.68 to $44.89.

BA confirmed new flaws in the production of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft that led to order work being halted at a plant in Italy two months ago.

BA call option volume of 3,877 contracts compares to put volume of 8,538 contracts.

BA September option implied volatility is at 37 and January is at 36; below its 6-month average of 41, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price fluctuations.


GNW volatility low while shares are lower on downgrade

Genworth Financial (GNW) is recently down 74 cents to $8.01.

Citigroup Global Markets say's "GNW downgrading to sell based on deteriorating fundamentals."

GNW September and December option implied volatility of 84 is below its 6-month average of 108, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price movement.
