PALM volatility low at 72 into offering

Palm (PALM) is recently trading at $17 in pre-market trading, below yesterday's close of $17.07.

PALM's 20 million share offering was priced at $16.25 a share.

Susquehanna Bank (SUSQ) initiated coverage on PALM with a "neutral" rating.

PALM October option implied volatility is at 72, and November is at 70, below its six-month average of 80, according to Track Data, suggesting decreasing price movement.


GIS volatility flat at 24 into better-than-expected EPS and higher outlook

General Mills (GIS) is recently trading at $63.65 in pre-market trading, above yesterday's close of $60.97.

The company reported Q1 EPS of $1.28 versus a consensus estimate of $1.03 and boosted guidance. GIS reported Q1 net sales increased to $3.52 billion, led by 6% growth in U.S. retail sales.

GIS October option implied volatility is at 24, and November is 23, near its 26-week average, according to Track Data, suggesting non-directional price movement.
